A little Update

November 2, 2009

You might be wondering why I haven’t been posting as much lately as I used to and If you haven’t noticed I figured it would be good for me to let you know and keep you all up to date with what’s going on.

When I started blogging 4 month ago I was not only new to blogging but I was new to the entire blogging and Web marketing world. The company that took me under their wing introduced me to all of the do’s and don’t:s, I was even taught how to use twitter :) !

Every day was a new challenge for me and I also had to work really hard to find the time since I already have a full-time job, and I am also a mother of two very young and healthy boys (age 4 and 2), so what happened is that I had to squeeze that in after we had picked the boys up from school/daycare, fed them, spent the evening with them, and finished reading their bed-time stories. When that was finally done, I found myself spending 3-4 hours per night working on building my posts and updating my tweets and Facebook fan page, I then quickly realized that this is a full time job on it’s own and that I had to re arrange my life, priority wise, to make it all work.

I did not realize how personal a blog is and how attached I would become to this specific task, and even less to realize that the passion that both Paolo and I have for food and especially the products that we deal with, would be so passionately shared by the rest of you. It was overwhelming to me and it also made me start putting a lot of pressure on myself and the people around me.

At the same time I was working with a team that did not understand how things are executed in our company and did not want to understand it either, every decision became a battle of wills rather than what was right for us and our clients, and in the end this relationship reached its end. It was ended very abruptly with an email sent to me in the middle of the month of September and I ended up being caught between a rock and a hard place.

I have now for the past month and a half been working really hard on finding a replacement, making all the changes on the appearance of my blog to reflect who I am, and to gather good material and work on personalizing everything, so that it really projects us for who we are.

In the end every ending is a new beginning and we choose ourselves where we want to take it. It is important that we fight to stay true to ourselves and to the people that have put trust in us. We are sharing our knowledge in our products on a daily basis, to our clients and the public, therefor we carry a responsability to always make sure that what we say is true and that our opinions are authentic.

I intend to go back to posting daily much sooner than later and sometimes even more than one post a day so please bare with me :) .

I would like to thank everyone that has been on this journey with me so far including the company that I previously worked with, and I am so excited to share more with you in the future.
